The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the total value of seized Russian assets to support the Ukrainian defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian resources since Moscow initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russia's assets had only been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their desire to push forward toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russian sovereign holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that more restrictions over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This statement comes after EU officials gathered in Copenhagen recently to debate employing seized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to Ukraine.

Last month, US President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use frozen Russian holdings, as reported by media sources.

The value of immobilized Russia's holdings in the Europe is assessed to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out extensive bombardments all over Ukraine on that day, causing electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the strike, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a update on X subsequent to the attack, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault focused on non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not just talk but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the seven nations - in supplying defense mechanisms and enforcing sanctions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky told media outlets he would press Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement programme, under which Nato countries purchase weapons from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the system, as well as apply further sanctions on Moscow.
